HIKING AND THE LARGEST GLACIER
A unique experience at the Viedma Glacier - El Chaltén
The journey begins in El Chaltén, Argentina's trekking capital. Once we arrive at Puerto Bahía Túnel, located just 18 km from the town center, we embark on a boat that winds its way through the turquoise waters of Lake Viedma. The initial leg of the journey takes us south along the bay, hugging the shoreline and allowing us to admire the imposing silhouette of the Huemul Massif, one of the region's most iconic mountains.
After approximately 40 minutes of sailing, we will arrive at Cape Horn Bay, where we will disembark for an easy hike. The trail leads us to a panoramic viewpoint on the Cape Horn Peninsula, from where an unforgettable scene unfolds: the magical Iceberg Bay, with its drifting icebergs and the backdrop of the Andes Mountains.
After enjoying this unique landscape, we'll re-embark for the most anticipated moment of the excursion: approaching the face of the Viedma Glacier. From the deck, we'll be able to appreciate the immense wall of ice in all its grandeur, with its bluish hues and ever-changing textures, while the guide explains the history and formation of this ancient glacier, the largest in Argentina.
Finally, we will begin our return to the port, carrying with us the thrill of having lived an authentic experience in the heart of Patagonia, where adventure meets the contemplation of majestic and unforgettable landscapes. The experience includes an On Board Snack: Premium sandwich, mineral water, and a brownie made in El Chaltén.

“The Todo Glaciares experience in El Calafate is a MUST! We went to the Club del Capitán with SoloPatagonia and we highly recommend it. Why? They take you to the Upsala and Spegazzini Glaciers, but also to the Spegazzini Refuge where you can have lunch or simply appreciate that beauty.”
