SOLO PATAGONIA S.A.
History

Our company was founded 40 years ago, but the true love story with Patagonia began long before, in 1886, when René's grandfather, our founder, arrived in Patagonia, Argentina. It was then that a story of passion and commitment to our land began.
In 1980, this story transformed into a major undertaking within Los Glaciares National Park. When El Calafate was still a secret known to few, we became the first privatization of lake services in Argentina by National Parks. While many watched with uncertainty, we bet on our dreams.
The goal has always been the same: to create products that highlight the incredible places that surround us. To achieve this, we've followed a foolproof recipe: hard work, an unwavering commitment, and a first-class team. Without the combined efforts of our entire team, we wouldn't be who we are today.
The road hasn't been easy. Like any endeavor, we've faced moments of adversity. Success has come with challenges, but we've always maintained the conviction to keep going, no matter the difficulties. Some projects failed, others were temporarily successful, but our determination never wavered.
Not only has our company grown, but so have the families involved. New generations of young Patagonians have emerged, reappraising our founding values and bringing new perspectives.
In recent years, we've taken on one of our most ambitious projects: the Spegazzini Refuge. Once again, we're investing heavily in our beloved Patagonia. With the pioneering spirit and innovation that characterize us, we've worked tirelessly to build one of El Calafate's most iconic products.
Just when we were ready to celebrate our achievements, the 2019 pandemic hit us hard, representing one of the most difficult moments in our history. However, the values instilled since our beginnings—respect, commitment, and effort—have kept us going. Here we are, and we continue to invest in our destination, creating unforgettable experiences for all our visitors.
